The app

CloakPaste scans the text you copy and the sensitive values it finds only on your computer, in memory; this data is never written to disk, never logged and never sent anywhere. The mapping between a label (e.g. [EMAIL_1]) and the real value is kept only in memory and is gone when the app closes.

It stores your settings, your custom terms, your Pro activity history (kind and count only, never content) and your license key in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CloakPaste. There is no account, no advertising, no crash reporting and no usage tracking. To recognise an AI chat, the app reads the title and, in browsers, the address of the window in front, on your computer; only the result (“this is ChatGPT”) is used, addresses are not stored or sent.

When you connect CloakPaste to a Claude app over MCP, it only reads and writes files in the folders you share; only masked text is passed to Claude, never the real values. The file is saved to disk with the real values.

This site has no ads, no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics.

Pro license

Purchases are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record; your card details never reach us. We receive your e-mail address and order details only to deliver your license, provide support and handle refunds, and the amount paid and your billing country for accounting and sales reports. When Pro activates, and once a month when it renews, only your license key and a one-way fingerprint of your computer (a hash that cannot be turned back into your computer's identity) are sent to our server; this is how the 3-computer limit works. The free version sends no data.
