The app

PassCrop processes your photo in memory, on your computer only; it does not send it anywhere. It keeps no copy of the photo and writes no temporary file; only the file you choose with Save is written to disk. Your original file is not changed, and saving over it is not allowed. Location and device data (EXIF) of the original photo are not copied into the saved file. The two models that find where the face is come with the program and run on your computer; no model is downloaded from the internet. The program finds the position of the face and the eyes only to place the frame; it does not determine whose photo it is and stores no data about the face. In the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\PassCrop it keeps: ayarlar.json (language, theme, the size you last chose, print resolution, the position of the window and the custom sizes you added; no file name or folder path is stored), lisans.json (if you entered a Pro key, the key and the activation certificate given by the server), the log folder (a technical log; no file name, folder path or photo content is written to it) and cokme.log (a technical trace if the program ends unexpectedly). In the registry, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gelkansoft\PassCrop, there is one value (SonZaman): the latest clock time the program has seen. It is a number only, used to notice a clock set back when a Pro licence is checked. The free edition writes this value too. The logs leave your computer only if you send them. For the version downloaded from the website, uninstalling the program does not delete this folder without asking you.

The free edition never connects to the internet. Only if you have entered a Pro key does the program contact the licence server (api.gelkansoft.com): when activating, then when renewing every 30 days, and when you choose “Remove from this computer”. Exactly three things are sent: your licence key, the name of the product (passcrop) and a digest derived from your computer's Windows identifier. The identifier itself, the name of your computer or user, the program version and anything about your photos are not sent. The Help menu commands “Frequently asked questions (online)” and “Request support” and the links in the About window open your browser or e-mail program when you click them; the program itself does not connect. There is no automatic update check; sizes and models are not updated from the internet, they only come with a new version. There is no usage data, statistics, crash reporting, advertising or analytics component.

Microsoft Store version: Windows keeps this folder and the registry value inside the app's own storage area (under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\GelkanSoft.PassCrop_…) and removes them together with the app, without asking, when you uninstall it. If you have custom sizes you want to keep, note them down before uninstalling.

This site

This site has no ads, no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics. Everything, fonts and images included, is served from our own server. The one exception: product pages load Paddle's script to open the checkout.

Pro licence

Pro is sold on gelkansoft.com; your card details never reach Gelkansoft, and the program takes no payment and sees no payment data. Data about the purchase is described in the site's general Privacy Policy. When you activate Pro, only the key, the product name and an irreversible digest of the computer go to the licence server. Refundable within 14 days, no questions asked.
