The app

CsvDrill keeps the following in the %LOCALAPPDATA%\CsvDrill\ folder: settings (language, theme, window position, paths of up to 8 recent files; File › Recent files › Clear list deletes them), the Pro license (key, the certificate the server signed for this computer, the latest clock time seen), the log (technical status lines only; no file names, paths or content) and temporary files of big jobs (deleted when the job or the file is closed). In the registry, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gelkansoft\CsvDrill, a copy of the latest clock time seen is kept (so the license can't be extended by setting the clock back); no personal data. The files you open may contain other people's personal data; you are responsible for that data, and it stays only on your computer.

The program's only network traffic: Pro activation and the renewal every 30 days. Only your key, the product name and a one-way digest of your computer go to the license server; Windows' computer ID, the computer name and your user name don't. The sort, filter and SQL engine (DuckDB) never goes online; extension downloads are switched off. There is no automatic update check. There is no usage tracking, advertising or crash reporting.

Microsoft Store version: CsvDrill installed from the Store keeps the same files; Windows puts them in the app's own area and deletes them when the app is uninstalled. If the %LOCALAPPDATA%\CsvDrill\ folder of the installer version from the website already exists, Windows shares it with the Store version: settings and the Pro license carry over; the folder stays when the Store version is uninstalled.

This site

This site has no ads, no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics. Everything, fonts and images included, is served from our own server. The one exception: product pages load Paddle's script to open the checkout.

Pro license

Purchases are made on the website through Paddle; your card details never reach Gelkansoft and the program takes no payment. When you activate Pro, only your key, the product name and a one-way digest of your computer go to the license server. The free edition never connects to the internet.
